
Žan Kolmanič Named to Slovenian Men's National Team Roster for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC announced on Friday that defender Žan Kolmanič has received an international call-up by Slovenia for its upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches against Malta and Russia during the October international FIFA window.
Kolmanič, 21, will join the Slovenia national team on Sunday, October 3, and will return to Austin prior to the Club's home match against Minnesota United FC on Saturday, October 16. Slovenia is scheduled to face Malta on Friday, October 8, at Ta'Qali National Stadium (Ta'Qali, Malta), followed by a home match against Russia on Monday, October 11, at The Stadion Ljudski vrt (Maribor, Slovenia).
A native of Murska Sabota, Slovenia, the call-up is Kolmanič's first with the senior Slovenian National Team. At the international youth level, Kolmanič has made 39 combined appearances with the U-21, U-19, U-18, U-17 and U-16 Slovenian National Teams.
In his first season with Austin FC, Kolmanič has recorded three (3) assists, 26 interceptions, and 20 clearances in 24 MLS appearances (18 starts) since joining the Club from 15-time Slovenian Champion NK Maribor in March 2021.
