Stories to Watch:

The Road to Playoffs

Seven games remain in the 2021 Major League Soccer regular season and RSL is currently sitting in fifth place, one spot out of a guaranteed home playoff match and four points behind fourth-place Portland Timbers. Saturday's opponent, Austin FC occupies the last spot in the Western Conference with 22 points and have only won one in their last seven matches. A win over Austin would solidify RSL's current fifth-place position. A draw and a loss for RSL or draw from LA Galaxy and Minnesota would also keep RSL in fifth.

Creating History

RSL's midfield duo of Damir Kreilach and Albert Rusnak are both inching towards Club history, as they look to become the first players to record at least 10 goals and 10 assist in a single season. Kreilach has scored 12 goals and recorded six assists, while Rusnak has scored seven goals and recorded 10 assists. With seven games remaining Kreilach will need four assists and Rusnak will need three goals to make history. The two midfielders have aided with either a goal or an assist in 35 of the team's 44 goals this season.

Connections: This Saturday, midfielder Nick Besler will take the pitch against his older brother Matt Besler who applies his trade on the Austin FC backline. The brothers have played against each other on several occasions, as the older Besler previously spent 11 years with Sporting Kansas City. When playing against one another, Nick holds the upper hand, with a 4-2-1 regular-season record over his older brother.
