BILOXI, MS - In front of a season-high 4,567 fans at MGM Park, Freddy Zamora and Jeferson Quero combined for three home runs in an 8-3 Biloxi Shuckers win over the Mississippi Braves. Zamora's multi-home run game was the 33rd in franchise history and marked the first time in franchise history that two multi-home run games were tallied in April.

With the win the Shuckers improved to 11-8 on the year, putting themselves in a three-way tie with the Montgomery Biscuits and Tennessee Smokies for the best record in the Southern League.

The Shuckers started the scoring from the start, bringing home their first run of the game off an RBI single from Jackson Chourio. The RBI was his 17th, a league-best. In the second, the Shuckers extended their lead to 2-0 with an RBI single from Ethan Murray, the first of a multi-hit and multi-RBI night.

Justin Jarvis continued to dominate on the hill, striking out six while allowing a run over six innings. The start brought his ERA down to 1.57 through his first four starts.

The Shuckers gave him all the support he needed in the fourth inning. Already up 2-0, Zamora launched a home run to left off the first pitch of the inning to extend the lead to 3-0. Two batters later, Carlos Rodriguez lined a single to right to score Felix Valerio. Murray then lined a single to left-center and extended the lead to 5-0.

The M-Braves battled back with a run in the sixth off Jarvis, a solo shot from Andrew Moritz, his first of the year. They then tagged reliever Robbie Baker for a run in the eighth off a fielder's choice from Cal Conley that cut the deficit to 5-2.

With closer Abner Uribe warming up in the bullpen, the Shuckers quickly put things away thanks to another home run from Zamora, this time a two-run shot to right. Quero then exploded a ball to left for his first Double-A home run, a 101 MPH line drive over the wall.

With the lead at 8-2, Uribe allowed his first run of the year when Drew Lugbaurer doubled to centerfield and brought home Beau Philip. However, Uribe used a strikeout and a groundout to finish the win.

The Shuckers and M-Braves will meet on Saturday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. The Shuckers will take the field in custom Shuck Cancer jerseys designed by local Biloxi artist, Julia Reyes, which will be auctioned off during the game with proceeds benefiting local patients along the Gulf Coast through the American Cancer Society. It's also Girl Scout Night, where the Shuckers will welcome local scouts to MGM Park with a pregame parade around the warning track.
