
Zack Granite activated from DL

Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that OF Zack Granite has been activated from the 7-day disabled list and that OF Ivory Thomas has been given his unconditional release. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
Granite went on the DL on April 9th with a left rotator cuff strain. In four games for the Kernels, he is batting .313 (5-16) with an RBI.
Thomas joined the Kernels on April 26th from Extended Spring Training. In 36 games for the Kernels, he hit .163 (13-80) with two HR and eight RBI.
Granite will be active and available for tonight's 6:35 pm game with the Burlington Bees. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with six players currently on the DL and one player on the Restricted List.
The Kernels continue a six-game home stand tonight at 6:35 pm against the Burlington Bees. The first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a free set of 2014 Kernels Baseball Cards, thanks to Perfect Game USA. It's also Game Show Theme Night and 98.1 KHAK Kernels Friday Mug Club night. Gates open at 5:30 pm.
