FORT MILL, S.C. -- Left-hander Shane Youman recorded the longest scoreless outing of his six-year professional career, while first baseman Jose Hernandez drilled a fourth-inning homer as Indianapolis notched a 2-0 blanking of Charlotte Monday evening at Knights Stadium.

The Indians improve to an International League-best 39-24 overall and 18-11 on the road, while the Knights fall to 27-37 on the season and 17-17 at home. Tuesday will be the Tribe's 57th consecutive day atop the IL's West Division.

Youman (8.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 SO) faced just five over the minimum and improved to 2-5 with the win. The 27-year-old, who retired 16 straight batters from the second through seventh innings, needed just 102 pitches to get through eight frames on the hill.

Youman departed after giving up back-to-back singles in the ninth. That's when Indianapolis RHP Franquelis Osoria (1.0 IP, 1 SO) came on to pick up his fourth save of the campaign. The Indians are now 35-1 when leading after seven innings and 38-1 when holding an advantage after eight frames.

Indianapolis scored the only run it would need in the fourth when Hernandez launched his team-leading sixth roundtripper of the season -- a solo blast to center.

The Tribe added an insurance run in the sixth. LF Yurendell de Caster drew a lead-off walk, moved to second on a groundout and came plateward on 3B Russ Johnson's base knock to left.

Charlotte RHP Lance Broadway (6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 6 BB, 3 SO) took the loss, falling to 4-2.

Knights 2B Jason Bourgeois was the only player from either dugout to register a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.

The two clubs wrap up their four-game series on Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. RHP John Wasdin is slated to make a rehab start for Indianapolis, while RHP Charlie Haeger is expected to get the nod for Charlotte.

The contest will be carried by ESPN-950 AM and IndyIndians.com with Howard Kellman and Scott McCauley. The pre-game show begins at 11:55 a.m.
