The York Revolution staged a late rally, scoring three times in the eighth inning to earn a 5-4 win over the Long Island Ducks at Sovereign Bank Stadium on Friday, snapping their five-game losing streak. The Revs (9-6) will host the Ducks (11-8) again on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.

Scott Grimes (3-for-4) rapped a two-out RBI single up the middle capping the three-run eighth inning, and eventually giving the Revs their league-best sixth comeback win out of nine total victories, the fifth of which has come in the seventh inning or later.

R.J. Rodriguez slammed the door with a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his third save.

Revs starter Matt DeSalvo was outstanding, allowing just three hits and two runs (one earned) in six innings, assuming the role of "stopper" in ending the team's skid. But the Revs had to make a comeback after the Ducks scored a sixth inning run, and two more against the bullpen in the seventh, denying DeSalvo his first win.

James Shanks led off the bottom of the eighth with an infield single, advanced to second on a passed ball, and moved to third when Vince Harrison laced a single into left. Tanner Townsend, making his Revs debut, reached on an error by Ducks third baseman Matt Padgett, allowing Shanks to score and cut the deficit to 4-3. Liubiemithz Rodriguez then dropped down a perfect sacrifice bunt, moving the tying and go-ahead runs into scoring position.

The Ducks called on closer Bubbie Buzachero, but the right-hander was unable to preserve the lead as Octavio Martinez drove in Harrison on a groundout for the tying run, and Grimes capped his big night with the eventual winning single to center.

York took an early 2-1 lead in the game with a pair of runs in the third. Grimes led off with a double to left-center, and later scored when Mark Ori launched an RBI double off the right field fence. Shanks drove home the second run on his first of two infield hits.

DeSalvo retired 10 of 11 batters until Tom Pennino led off the sixth with an infield single, moved to third on an error, and scored to tie the game at 2-2 on a sac fly by Javier Colina.

With DeSalvo out of the game in the seventh, the Ducks used two more infield singles to set up a two-run inning, with Lew Ford's RBI single and Freddie Thon's double to left-center plating a pair, and lifting the Ducks on top 4-2.

Scott Rice (1-0) worked a perfect eighth inning to earn the win, while Valerio De Los Santos (0-1) suffered the loss. All three runs charged to De Los Santos in the bottom of the eighth were unearned.

The Ducks scored the first run of the game on Padgett's double to center in the second inning.
