
Patriots Win On Record Breaking Night For Nettles

Bridgewater, NJ- Jeff Nettles' three-run home run (2) in the seventh gave him the Atlantic League career RBI record and the Patriots the lead as they defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 7-5 before 6,022 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.
Nettles now stands at 531 career RBI for the Patriots in his eighth season with the team.
The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the third after Justin Huber singled and scored on an RBI double by Josh Pressley.
Somerset plated another run in the fourth on an RBI single by Joe Holden.
The Blue Crabs knotted up the game in the fifth inning on a two-run double by Brandon Pinckney that made the score 2-2.
Southern Maryland claimed the lead with two in the sixth on back-to-back RBI singles by Christian Lopez and Ryan Mulhern for a 4-2 advantage.
Matt Hagen (4) extended the lead with a solo home run to left for a 7-4 lead.
An RBI ground out in the ninth by Jose Herrera made the score 7-5.
Andrew Dobies (1-1) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Charlie Manning (2-1) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits in 1.1 innings pitched. Luke Sommer earned his first save of the season for Somerset.
