Ynoa Named League Pitcher of the Week

July 6, 2015 - Eastern League (EL1)
Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release

BINGHAMTON, NY - Binghamton Mets starter Gabriel Ynoa was recognized on Monday as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for his one-hit shutout of the Erie SeaWolves on July 2. It marks the first time this season a B-Met has earned an Eastern League weekly honor.

Ynoa, 22, baffled the SeaWolves over nine scoreless innings, registering the fourth solo nine-inning one-hitter in B-Mets franchise history. Signed out of La Vega in the Dominican Republic in November 2009, Ynoa struck out six and issued no walks in his fifth win of the season. Harold Castro scratched out the only hit off Ynoa with a double in the third.

The B-Mets (41-40) conclude their series against the Sea Dogs on Monday at 6:35 PM. RHP Robert Gsellman takes the hill. The Horizons Federal Credit Union Pregame Show can be heard starting at 6:20 PM on Newsradio 1290 WNBF and the Binghamton Mets channel on TuneIn.

Be sure to follow the B-Mets on their official website (www.bmets.com) or on Facebook, Twitter (@bmets) and SnapChat (binghamtonmets). Fans can also stay up to date with all the action on the field by visiting "B-Mets Buzz" at bmets.mlblogs.com or following Tim Heiman (@TimHeiman) on Twitter.
