Yard Goats Put up 10 Runs in Victory

Manchester, NH - The Yard Goats put together a pair of four-run innings to defeat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 10-7 on Sunday afternoon at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. Isaac Collins cranked the go-ahead solo home run in the fifth inning to give Hartford a 3-2 lead. Daniel Montano got the Yard Goats offense rolling in the first inning as he connected with a two-run homer, giving Hartford a 2-0 lead. Bedford, New Hampshire native Grant Lavigne had three hits and Hunter Stovall had three hits and reached base five times helping the Yard Goats split the six-game series against the Blue Jays affiliate. The Yard Goats return home on Tuesday for a series against the Harrisburg Senators.

The Yard Goats took the early lead in the first inning when Daniel Montano cranked a two-run homer off Fisher Cats starter Adam Kloffenstein. New Hampshire tied the game in the bottom of the second as Cam Eden belted a two-run homer off Hartford starter Mitch Kilkenny.

The game remained tied 2-2 before Hartford scored four runs in the fifth inning. Isaac Collins led off the third inning with a home run off Fisher Cats reliever Marcus Reyes. Aaron Schunk's sacrifice fly scored Hunter Stovall to make it 4-2. Later in the inning Daniel Cope cracked a two-run single and Daniel Montano and Grant Lavigne scored and it was 6-2 Yard Goats. The Fisher Cats scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings and it was 6-4 heading to the seventh inning.

The Yard Goats added four more runs in the seventh inning to extend their lead to 10-4. Kyle Datres had an RBI double, Niko Decolati had a two-run single and Hunter Stovall contributed with an RBI single. The Fisher Cats scored single runs in each of the final five innings and hit four homers in the game but Hartford held on for the victory.

The Yard Goats open up a six-game series against the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals affiliate) on Tuesday night (7:05 PM) at Dunkin' Donuts Park. RHP Tony Locey will make his home debut and start for the Yard Goats. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP and FM 100.9 and on the iheart radio app.
