Garcia and Nogowski Lead Sens to 6-5 Win

The Harrisburg Senators rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Erie SeaWolves 6-5 Sunday afternoon at FNB Field. The Senators won the final two games of the series after dropping the first four. Trailing 5-0 in the seventh, John Nogowski hit a grand slam to bring the Sens to within one run. In the last of the ninth, the Senators loaded the bases with no outs on a walk, single and fielder's choice. Justin Connell tied the game with a sacrifice fly and then Wilson Garcia won the game with a single driving in Gilbert Lara.

Luis Reyes started and allowed a pair of two-run home runs in the first inning. He settled in and didn't allow another run, going five innings. Malvin Pena pitched the sixth inning and allowed a solo home run. Alberto Guerrero, Reid Schaller, and Andrew Lee combined to go the final three frames without allowing a hit. Lee earned the win, his third.

Nogowski walked twice along with the grand slam in the seventh. Justin Connell doubled in the first inning, walked twice and scored a run. Jackson Cluff doubled and scored a run, he also walked once. Gilbert Lara singled in the ninth and scored the winning run. Garcia singled in the right center field alley with one out in the ninth to win the game.

Harrisburg didn't commit an error in the whole series. The grand slam by Nogowski was the Senators fourth this season. The walk off win is the Senators fifth on the season. All five have come on either Saturday or Sunday.
