Trenton, NJ - The Trenton Thunder shutout the Hartford Yard Goats 1-0 on Tuesday night at Arm & Hammer Park in Trenton, New Jersey. The Yard Goats had 10 hits and left eight men on base as they were shutout for the third time in the past five games. Ryan McBroom's RBI single in the first inning scoring Devyn Bolasky was the only run of the game. Hartford had runners on base in all but two innings and had the bases loaded in the sixth inning as they fell to 2-3 on the road trip. Both teams combined for 19 hits but only one run.

Thunder starter Brian Keller fired 5.2 scoreless innings to earn his seventh win, which also pushed Hartford back to five games out of a playoff spot. Yard Goats starter Evan Grills was the tough luck loser pitching six innings and allowing just one run with four strikeouts. Four of the past five games have been shutouts with Hartford going 1-3 in those contests.

Tonight was the second of seven consecutive games for the Yard Goats against the top two clubs in the Eastern League's Eastern Division. Hartford was denied at its second attempt to get over .500 in the past week.

The Thunder scored the first run of the game in the very first inning off Hartford starter Evan Grills. Devyn Bolasky and Zach Zehner started with back to back singles. After Trey Amburgey grounded into a fielder's choice runners went to first and third with one out. Ryan McBroom followed with a single to left scoring Bolasky and giving the Thunder a 1-0 lead.

The Yard Goats conclude their three game series on Wednesday morning (11:00 AM) at Arm & Hammer Park in Trenton, New Jersey. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and streamed on newsradio.1410.com and MiLB.com.
