RAIN FORCES AT LEAST 16 INNINGS ON TUESDAY: Binghamton and Bowie will pick up last night's suspended contest in the bottom of the second inning in a scoreless game. Approximately 30 minutes after the completion of that game, the Ponies and Baysox duel in a seven-inning contest, the game originally scheduled for Tuesday.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Kevin McGowan picks up where Scott Copeland left off yesterday. The 26-year-old makes his Rumble Ponies debut and first appearance with Binghamton since 2016. He's tossed in 28 Binghamton games over his six-year career (three starts), and pitched in eight games for the New York Mets last season.
BULLPEN STREAK OVER: The Rumble Ponies relievers allowed five runs in Sunday's loss snapping their scoreless innings streak at 25.2 frames. The Binghamton bullpen was seven outs away from going the entire eight-game seven-day homestand without allowing a run.
TICK TOCK: The Rumble Ponies and Thunder completed Sunday's game in three hours and five minutes, excluding the :35 minute rain delay. It's the first time in eight games Binghamton played a game that took longer than three hours to wrap up.
WELCOME TO THE PONIES: 3B Will Toffey & SS Andres Gimenez made their first appearance with Binghamton last night.
MICHAEL MARCHES ON: Levi Michael collected a hit and three walks on Sunday, extending his hitting steak to six games. The Eastern League All-Star has a knock in 12 of the last 13 games and is tied with Akron's Joe Sever for the league lead in hits (103). He's hitting .363 in July and .302 for the season (5th in EL)
SPLIT THE DIFFERENCE: Binghamton and Trenton split both four-game series' at NYSEG Stadium this season, two and two. The Rumble Ponies have split three series' this season, all in the last three weeks.
ONE STEP FORWARD, TWO STEPS BACK: Binghamton begins their weeklong road trip nine games back of first place New Hampshire. It's the first time since the conclusion of their last Trenton series (June 28) being this far from first in the Eastern Division.
BATTLING THE BAYSOX: In their only series of the season, Binghamton took three out of four from Bowie on May 25-28 at NYSEG Stadium. The Baysox, though, outscored the Rumble Ponies 14-12 in the quarter. Bowie took both ends of a twin bill Sunday against Erie.
UP NEXT: Binghamton and Bowie finish their three-game series on Wednesday morning. RHP Harol Gonzalez makes his third Rumble Ponies start against Baysox RHP Christian Binford. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 AM.
