
Yankees Promote RHP Chase Hampton to Double-A Somerset

Bridgewater, NJ - The New York Yankees have announced that RHP Chase Hampton has been promoted to the Double-A Somerset Patriots. He will make his Double-A debut starting on Sunday versus the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at 1:05 at TD Bank Ballpark.
The Yankees No. 6 prospect per Baseball America and No. 24 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Hampton posted a team-leading 2.68 ERA in High-A Hudson Valley this season prior to the promotion, while his 77 strikeouts lead the Yankees organization and rank 5th in all of MiLB.
In addition to strikeouts, the 21-year-old currently leads all Yankees minor leaguers with 40+ IP in WHIP (1.00), K/9 (14.94), opponent average (.178), K/BB (32.1%), and places second in ERA (2.68).
Hampton was assigned to the Renegades break camp roster this spring, making his professional debut for Hudson Valley on April 11 vs. Aberdeen. Hampton has racked up three 10+ strikeout performances this season for the Renegades, serving as one of only three players in MiLB with 3+ double-digit strikeout games this season. Over his final four High-A starts, Hampton posted a 2.31 ERA and struck out 35 batters over a span of 23.1 IP.
Initially drafted by the Yankees in the 6th round of the 2022 MLB Draft out of Texas Tech, the Longview, TX native posted a 4.10 ERA in two seasons with the Red Raiders, going 9-5 with 106 K in 33 games (18 starts).
