Senators Double-up on Erie SeaWolves

The Harrisburg Senators rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to beat the Erie SeaWolves 4-2 Thursday night at FNB Field. Both teams scored in the first inning before Erie took the lead in the fourth inning 2-1. Harrisburg tied the game in the fifth on a solo home run by JT Arruda and took the lead in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly and single to plate two runs.

The Big Plays

With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Jarrett Gonzales singled to start a two-run rally. The single was followed by a one-out double by Jack Dunn then came the big play. With runners on second and third, James Wood hit a fly ball to medium deep center field against tough left hander Adam Wolf scoring Jarrett Gonzales with the go ahead run.

On Capitol Hill

Jackson Rutledge started and went seven innings, the longest out by a Senators starting pitcher this season. He allowed two runs on four hits and took a no decision. Lucas Knowles pitched into and out of a bases loaded situation in the eighth inning to earn the win. Joel Peguero allowed a single but retired the final three batters of the game to earn his ninth save this season.

With the Gavel

JT Arruda homered to tie the game in the fifth inning... James Wood drove in two runs with a double in the first and a sacrifice fly in the eighth... Terone Harris, III had an RBI single in the eighth inning.

Filibusters

The Senators snapped their three-game losing streak and moved to within 2.5 games of the first place Erie SeaWolves... Harrisburg had just five hits in the game three of them drove in runs... The Senators are 3-6 on their second 12-game homestand.

On the Docket

The Senators and Erie SeaWolves play game four of their six-game series Friday at 7:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 6:45 p.m.
