Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
The PawSox were shut down in a 10-1 debacle in Moosic, Pennsylvania. In the process, Pawtucket was held to just five hits, a third inning single by Luis Exposito, singles by Lars Anderson in the seventh and the ninth and base hits by Tony Thomas and Nate Spears in the ninth. The game also marked the first time the opponent has scored in double figures this season.
Kyle Weiland was outdueled by his former Notre Dame teammate, David Phelps. Weiland (2-3) allowed 5 runs in 5 and a third innings. Clevelan Santeliz gave up 4 runs (3 earned) in 2 thirds of an inning. For Scranton, Phelps went 6 scoreless innings with 7 strikeouts.
The loss pushes Pawtucket 2 and a half games out of first place. Game three of the four game series takes place on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. Andrew Miller (1-2,2.42) faces Adam Warren (1-0, 3.90).
