STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Staten Island Yankees lived up to their nickname "Baby Bombers" on Friday night, as they pounded out 15 hits and 13 runs, handing the 'Cats their third straight loss.

Staten Island has now won their last four games, making them the hottest team in the league.

Agapito Barrios, who is on a rehab assignment from the Quad Cities River Bandits, got the start for the 'Cats. He threw three perfect frames, striking out four Yankee batters before running into trouble in the fourth.

Barrios surrendered five runs in the inning on three singles, a wild pitch, double, and three-run home run.

The Yanks proceeded to score one run in each of the next three innings, before putting up another five spot in the eighth.

The ValleyCats kept fighting their way back throughout the ballgame, but the 13 runs was too much to overcome.

Alex DeGoti went 2-for-4 with a double and four runs scored, Ryne Birk pitched in with a double and two runs scored, while Chuckie Robinson went 1-for-5 with an RBI double.

The victory improved Staten Island's record to 21-13, second best in the New York-Penn League. Meanwhile, the ValleyCats fall to .500 with a 17-17 record.

The 'Cats still remain in third place in the Stedler Division, three games behind the Lowell Spinners and Connecticut Tigers, who both also lost on Friday night.

The Yankees and ValleyCats close out their three game series on Saturday night in Staten Island, as the 'Cats look to avoid a sweep. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
