Xplosion to Host Catholic Schools Night

Pittsburgh, PA. The ABA Pittsburgh Xplsion will host Catholic Schools Night at its game against the Toledo Ice on Monday, Feb 20 at the Petersen Events Center in Oakland.Tip-off is 7pm. Led by former NBA star Armon Gilliam, Pittsburgh is driving for a playoff berth in its first season in the ABA. For this game against Toledo, the Pittsburgh Xplosion is offering special half-price tickets to Catholic school students and their families. These tickets are specially priced at $6.25 for general admission seats and just $12.50 for reserved seats, a 50% savings.
As a fundraising incentive, Catholic schools and parishes that purchase these tickets in advance in blocks of 20 tickets or more will receive $1.25 in cash for each $6.25 ticket purchased and $2.50 for each $12.50 ticket purchased. This event is a great way to intoduce students to the excitement of pro basketball while raising funds for your Catholic school and/or its athletic association. Schools that purchase 100 general admission tickets in advance, for example, would receive a $125 check from the Pittsburgh Xplosion.
Students attending this game will have an opportunity to meet Pittsburgh Xplosion players and get autographs. In addition to Armon Gilliam, who starred in the NBA for 13 years and is currently an ABA All-Star averaging 22 points and 9 rebounds a game, the Pittsburgh Xplosion features talented players with NCAA and pro basketball experience in North America, Europe and South America. Students from St. Joseph's Elementary School in Verona and St. Bartholomew Elementary School in Penn Hills will serve as ball boys at this game.

When purchasing group tickets, please be sure to mention the name of your school so it receives fundraising credit. Half-price tickets for Catholic Schools Night may also be purchased at the Petersen Events Center on the night of the game, but the special fundraising credit applies only to advance group sales.
