Lincoln Stars Defenseman Wyatt Aamodt

LINCOLN, Neb. - The United States Hockey League (USHL) has named Lincoln Stars defenseman Wyatt Aamodt the USHL Defenseman of the Week for Week 21 of the 2017-18 season.
Aamodt, 20, tallied four assists during two games last week against the Fargo Force and Waterloo Black Hawks, picking up one assist in Friday's 4-2 win over Fargo and three assists in Saturday's 8-5 win in Waterloo. The Minnesota State University, Mankato commit is on a five-game point streak, earning seven assists since February 16 and doubling his season point total. In his first season with the Stars, the Hermantown, Minn. product has two goals and 11 assists for 13 points through 32 games and sits third among Stars defensemen in assists.
In his third USHL season, Aamodt has three goals and 30 assists for 33 points through 98 games between the Stars and Chicago Steel. He was acquired by the Stars prior to the 2017-18 season.
This is the first career USHL weekly honor for Aamodt and the third for the Stars this season. Defenseman Carter Long was named USHL Defenseman of the Week on December 18, and forward Tristan Ashbrook was named USHL Forward of the Week on February 5. Aamodt's award is the seventh weekly honor for the Stars over the last two seasons.
