YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Phantoms have announced that they will host their third annual USHL Futures Camp June 2nd and June 3rd, 2018 in Youngstown, Ohio. The two day development and exposure camp will be held at the Deep Freeze / Extreme Air facility (formerly known as the Ice Zone) located at 360 McClurg Road Youngstown, Ohio 44512. The Deep Freeze is the Phantoms' practice facility during the season.

The Phantoms' 2018 USHL Futures Camp is open to any interested player who is born in 2003 and 2004 only.

Players and parents will be able to register for the camp on-line through a link on the Youngstown Phantoms' team web-site at www.youngstownphantoms.com . The camp will be a first come first served basis for registrations until team positions for the camp are filled.

The USHL Futures Camp will begin Saturday June 2nd with player check in at the Deep Freeze at 8:00am followed by the first on-ice session of practices and games for the attendees. Later that afternoon at the Covelli Centre, the Phantoms' home arena (229 East Front Street), camp participants will be offered a tour of the Covelli Centre and Phantoms' locker Room. There will then be a presentation by the Phantoms' Hockey Operations staff (Head Coach Brad Patterson, Assistant Coaches Jeff Potter and Nick Peruzzi, and General Manager Jason Koehler) which discusses junior hockey, the USHL, and most importantly how the Phantoms' operate their program for their players. Following the presentation, hockey staff members will be available for a valuable question and answer session for the players and parents in attendance at the camp. Later on Saturday evening and Sunday morning June 3rd, camp participants will practice and play games for three total ice sessions of exposure and teaching with the Phantoms' staff.

This camp is a great opportunity for 2003 and 2004 born players who are interested in playing for the Phantoms and in the USHL in the near future, but are not yet ready or eligible to play in the league. It provides an experience of an extremely competitive USHL camp, a chance to become familiar with one of the top developmental programs in the country, meet the Phantoms staff, and show their potential for following season(s).

The Phantoms' Equipment Manager Jerry Hillman will be available during the camp to assist with equipment needs and skate sharpening for a fee. Additionally, Phantoms' Athletic Trainer Joe Zidar will be in attendance for basic medical needs during Camp.

Players are responsible for their own travel arrangements and meals while attending the Youngstown Phantoms Futures Camp. There are many food establishments nearby in the Boardman, Ohio area near the event facility.

By mid-May, a complete and official schedule will be sent out to the players who have registered for the event. Expect the event to begin on Saturday morning June 2nd around 8:00am at the Deep Freeze / Extreme Air facility and for the event to conclude by 1:00pm on Sunday June 3rd for travel and planning purposes in and out of the Youngstown area.
