LEADING OFF: On Wednesday, West Virginia dropped two games to the Rome Braves. The Power lost a 4-2 final in the series opener, which started Tuesday and was suspended due to rain. The Braves lead 3-0 when play was halted Tuesday. West Virginia got within on a two-run home run by Alfredo Reyes in the fifth. Rome added an insurance run in the eighth and sealed the win. In Wednesday's scheduled game, the Braves scored once in the first and once in the third against Mitch Keller. The lone Power run crossed on a sac fly in the sixth inning. The winning pitchers were Trevor Belicek and Ricardo Sanchez while Dario Agrazal and Keller took the losses.

TRENDING SOUTH: West Virginia has lost three straight for the first time this season, having lost Sunday at Lexington and the first two games of the series with Rome. For the first time this season, the Power will lose a series. West Virginia won each of the first five series they played this season. The Power are in the middle of a 14-game run against opponents from the South Atlantic League's Southern Division.

AT A LOSS: When the Braves pinned a loss on Dario Agrazal on Tuesday, it was the first time this season that an opponent tagged a loss on a Power starting pitcher. The rotation was 7-0 prior to Tuesday and the bullpen was 7-4. Mitch Keller suffered a loss on Wednesday in the seven-inning second game.

WHEREVER I MAY ROME: West Virginia and Rome only meet for two series this season. The Power hold the all-time lead with 23 wins compared to 1 losses after the club's split the 2015 series at State Mutual Stadium 2-2. West Virginia is 10-8 at Appalachian Power Park against Rome since 2005.

STOPPED AT 15: Mitch Keller's scoreless inning streak was snapped at 15 innings when the Braves plated a run in the top of the first on Wednesday. The 20-year-old still has a 0.86 ERA, good enough for fourth-best in the league.

ROUGH DAY IN THE FIELD: West Virginia committed four errors in Tuesday's loss against Rome. The Power had committed a league-low 12 errors over 18 games this season prior to Tuesday's series opener. West Virginia is now tied for the best fielding percentage in the league (.979) with Delmarva, though the Shorebirds have committed 15 errors this season (one fewer than the Power).

ROUND FIVE: JT Brubaker's start tonight marks the beginning of the fifth time through the Power rotation. West Virginia has not used a spot starter yet this year and the rotation has gone 7-2 with a combined ERA of 2.27.

ROSTER UPDATE: Jake Burnette was placed on West Virginia's Disabled List Monday. The right-hander is 3-0 this season, but has an earned run average of 7.71 after Sunday's appearance. Burnette faced five batters, walked four, allowed one hit and surrendered four earned runs on Sunday. Infielder Logan Ratledge was promoted to the Power roster from the West Virginia Black Bears. Ratledge was on the initial roster at the outset of the season, but was transferred to the Morgantown roster on April 19 to make room for pitcher Julio Vivas.

POWER POINTS: The next former Power player to reach the Majors will be the 50th to do so in franchise history... Ke'Bryan Hayes had his six game hitting streak stopped on Tuesday. It was the longest streak of his professional career to date.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh outlasted Colorado 9-8 in 12 innings. Gregory Polanco drove in two with a home run in the seventh and scored in the twelfth on a double by Jordy Mercer... Indianapolis lost 7-6 to Norfolk in 12 innings... Altoona fell 10-4 to Erie... Bradenton bumped Palm Beach 6-1. Austin Coley earned his second win for the Marauders.

PROMO UPDATE: The Power will host a Faith and Family Festival on April 30. Gates open at 1:00 pm with a 2:05 first pitch against Asheville. After the final out, KJ-52 and Abandon will perform live.
