Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (9-12) concluded their series Thursday night with the Kannapolis Intimidators (8-13) in winning fashion, taking the finale by a score of 3-2.
Starter Logan Webb earned his first victory of the season, pitching 5.1 innings while striking out six. Lucius Fox also had a good day, going 2-2 with two walks at the plate. Slugger Dillon Dobson continued his torrid pace, hitting his league leading seventh home run.
Reliever Jake McCasland pitched 2.2 innings, striking out thee. He lowered his ERA to 1.23. Caleb Smith worked a scoreless ninth to pick up his second save of the season. On the other side, Kannapolis starter Luis Martinez lasted just three innings, allowing one earned run. Jaider Rocha was saddled with his second loss of the season.
Augusta's next home game will be Friday, April 29th at 7:05pm against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. It's Ladies Night, featuring $3 wine specials and a chance to win prizes. It's also Donate Life Night, where the first 1,000 fans will receive a Donate Life Rally Towel presented by LifeLink Foundation. It's also Reading Night 2.
The probable pitching matchup features Cody Poteet (1-1, 3.00 ERA) against Grant Watson (1-0, 1.32 ERA).
