LEADING OFF: West Virginia swept a doubleheader from Lexington on Friday evening, winning 5-1 in game one before taking game two 3-1. Mitch Keller struck out ten over five innings in the early game and the Power scored all five runs over the first four innings. Christian Kelley had two hits and Tito Polo scored twice to pace the offense. In game two, West Virginia scored a run in the second, third and fourth innings, led by Carlos Munoz's first home run of the season. JT Brubaker earned the victory with seven strikeouts over five innings and Tate Scioneaux delivered the final six outs for his third save. Brubaker and Scioneaux combined to throw a one-hitter.

DOMINATING: West Virginia has beaten Lexington in each of the six games they have faced the Legends this season and has won eight straight against the Kansas City Royals affiliate since September 1, 2015. The Power have out-scored the Legends 30-13 so far this year. West Virginia holds a 120-99 record in the all-time series, including a 64-47 mark in Lexington since 2005.

BEST OF ALL: Entering play on Saturday, the Power's 13-3 mark is tied for the best record in Minor League Baseball. Only Lynchburg, Cleveland's High-A affiliate in the Carolina League, has matched West Virginia with a 13-3 record and an .813 winning percentage. Salt Lake (Triple-A) and High Desert (High-A) are both 12-4 heading into play today.

MAKE IT REIGN: Mitch Keller has made three starts this season and has struck out 10 batter in two of those three games. The 20-year-old has also run his scoreless inning streak to 15 innings to open the year, having only allowed seven hits and three of those have been bunts. Keller is the reigning South Atlantic League Pitcher-of-the-Week for his efforts from April 7 through 17.

FINE NINE: Alfredo Reyes has hit safely in nine straight games and reached in 11 straight. The former Mets farmhand was acquired in the Rule Five Draft in December and is now batting .268 this year thanks to 11 hits over his last 32 at bats (.344 average during the streak).

ONLY ONE: JT Brubaker allowed a solo home run in the third inning during Friday's nightcap. It would be the only hit the right-hander would surrender. Tate Scioneaux followed with two hitless innings as the duo combined to throw the first one-hitter by the Power pitching staff since July 23, 2013 when Tyler Glasnow and Jhondaniel Medina one-hit the Kannapolis Intimidators at Appalachian Power Park during game one of a doubleheader.

MUNOZ THE MASHER: Carlos Munoz launched his first home run of the season in game two of Friday's doubleheader. The first baseman hit 12 last season between the Appalachian League and the New York-Penn League. Munoz was named Appalachian League Player of the Year for his exploits. 12 home runs in 2015 placed him in a four way tie for third within the Pirates Minor League system, trailing only Stetson Allie and Willy Garcia.

POWER POINTS: The next former Power player to reach the Majors will be the 50th to do so in franchise history... Tito Polo was held without a hit on Wednesday, going 0-4 and snapping his hitting streak at 10 games. Polo also had a hit in his last game last year, pushing the streak to 11 games prior to Wednesday... West Virginia swept one doubleheader last year en route to an 87 win season. The Power beat the Lexington Legends twice one year ago today, winning game one 3-2 in eight innings and taking game two 5-2 at Appalachian Power Park.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh win its second straight by staving off Arizona 8-7. Sean Rodriguez and Gregory Polanco hit back-to-back home runs in the second and Mark Melancon went an inning and a third to save Jonathan Niese's win... Josh Bell hit for the cycle as Indianapolis bounced Louisville 13-1... Altoona beat Richmond 10-2... Bradenton fell 4-1 at Palm Beach with Alex McRae taking the loss.

PROMO UPDATE: The Power will host a Faith and Family Festival on April 30. Gates open at 1:00 pm with a 2:05 first pitch against Asheville. After the final out, KJ-52 and Abandon will perform live.

ON THE AIR: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, online at wvpower.com and on the TuneIn Radio App. Adam Marco will call the action once again and will be joined by Greg Wong when the team plays at Appalachian Power Park.
