Naylor, Hoppers Top Claws 6-1 on Saturday

GREENSBORO, NC - Josh Naylor went 3-3 with two doubles, a home run, and drove in three as Greensboro won their second straight from Lakewood, topping the BlueClaws 6-1 on Saturday night at NewBridge Bank Park.

The loss drops the BlueClaws to 3-14 on the season, while Greensboro improves to 7-10, including 5-2 against Lakewood. After winning the first game of the series on Thursday, the BlueClaws have dropped the last two games in the series.

The Grasshoppers got on the board in the third inning on Naylor's two-run home run, his first of the season, to make it 2-0. Then in the fourth, Rony Cabrera's two-run double put the Grasshoppers up 4-0.

BlueClaws starter Harold Arauz came out after four innings, allowing four runs on six hits, and took the loss to fall to 1-2 on the year.

Greensboro added two more in the seventh off reliever Alejandro Arteaga, one on an RBI single by Taylor Munden and one on an RBI double by Naylor.

Hoppers starter Cody Poteet (1-1) earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings with a career-high eight strikeouts.

Wilson Garcia, Jiandido Tromp, and Jan Hernandez each had two hits in the loss for the BlueClaws.

The series concludes on Sunday afternoon at 4:00. RHP Mitch Gueller (0-1) starts for the BlueClaws against LHP Gabriel Castellanos (1-1).
