THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia beat Hagerstown 11-2 on Sunday afternoon to split their four-game series. The Power scored three runs in the third on three hits and an error. West Virginia added two in the fifth, including a leadoff home run by Josh Bell, and then added five in the sixth during an 11 batter inning. The Power capped the scoring with a run crossing on a wild pitch in the eighth. Orlando Castro earned the win with five innings of six-hit, two-run ball. Bell and Walker Gourley had four hits apiece and Bell drove in four of the 11 runs.

HOME SWEET HOME? West Virginia has allowed 128 runs this season, 91 of which have come over 11 games at Appalachian Power Park for an average of 8.3 per game. In seven road games, the pitching staff surrendered 37 runs at an average of 5.3 runs per game. The Power have concluded their home schedule this month and will play 18 home games during May. Of the 115 runs scored this year by the offense, 53 have been at home (4.8 rpg) and 62 have come away from Charleston (8.9 rpg).

WEST TO SOUTH: West Virginia will take on the Charleston RiverDogs over the next three days at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The RiverDogs swept a three game series in West Virginia earlier this month, outscoring the Power 31-16 during the set. Charleston leads the all-time series 29-23 and have gone 16-11 against West Virginia in their home park.

PROGRAMING NOTE: The Cincinnati Reds game on Wednesday, April 24, begins at 12:35 and will be heard on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 and 1490. Tomorrow's Power game against the Charleston RiverDogs, scheduled for an 11:05 am first pitch, will shift to 680 AM WKAZ. The game will also be available online at www.wvpower.com.

CAREER HIGHS: Josh Bell's four runs batted in on Sunday are a single-game career high. Bell played in 15 games during a 2012 season cut short by a knee injury, batting .274 with one home run and 11 runs batted in. In 16 games this season, the outfielder has a .288 average, two home runs, and 21 runs batted in.

SCORING POSITION: Over the first three games of the Hagerstown series, West Virginia went 7-37 with runners in scoring position (.189). On Sunday, the Power were 6-21 with runners in scoring position (.286). The club is batting .238 in this situation this season with 55 hits in 231 at bats, 13th out of 14 clubs in the SAL. Greensboro leads all teams with a .298 average with runners in scoring position while Rome is last at .216.

ERRORS ADDING UP: West Virginia has committed 45 errors this season, the most of any club in Minor League Baseball. The Power are averaging 2.5errors per game. Delmarva has committed the second most errors in the league with 33 through 18 games, but sit tied for first place in the division with 11 wins.

PROMO UPDATE- MAY 18: The Power will host their annual WVU night on May 18 against Lexington. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a Geno Smith bobblehead. All fans will have the chance to meet and greet Kevin Jones, Truck Bryant, and Da'Sean Butler. WVU Night is present by the WV Army National Guard.

POWER POINTS: Sunday's pair of four hit games gives the Power seven this season. The 2012 edition of the Power combined for five four-hit games all year... Walker Gourley has played in 16 games this year, eight of which have been multi-hit games for the utility player... Max Moroff's 15 game on-base streak is the fourth longest in the league this season, now at 15 games after reaching base three times Sunday... John Kuchno did not pitch against Charleston when the team's met earlier this season, though Tyler Glasnow and Joely Rodriguezdid. Glasnow and Rodriguez are the scheduled starters for the remainder of the series.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost its' road trip opener 3-2 at Philadelphia. Pedro Alvarez and Russell Martin hit home runs in the loss for the Buccos, who fell to 10-9... Indianapolis scored three in the bottom of the ninth for a 5-4 walk-off win over Louisville. Tony Sanchez hit a game-winning two-run home run... Altoona lost 10-6 at Richmond... Bradenton beat Jupiter 5-3. Jose Osuna hit his second home run of the year in the victory.
