(ASHEVILLE, N.C.) Francisco Sosa's two-out, two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Asheville the lead, and the Tourists held on to beat the Lexington Legends 4-3 in the opener of a three-game series in Asheville Tuesday night.

The Tourists broke through in the first inning on a double by Jose Rivera and a two-out single by Tom Murphy. They added another run in the second inning on a single by Chris O'Dowd, a walk to Kyle Von Tungeln and a single by Rivera.

The Legends tied it in the third. With one out, a single by Fred Ford and walks to Ethan Chapman and Terrance Gore loaded the bases. Raul Mondesi's sacrifice fly scored Ford from third, and Bubba Starling followed with a base hit, scoring Chapman to tie the game at 2-2. Mondesi has driven in 14 runs in his last 12 games.

Lexington moved in front 3-2 in the fifth inning on back-to-back doubles with two outs by Mondesi and Starling.

In the bottom of the seventh, Von Tungeln was hit by a pitch, but was forced out on an attempted sacrifice bunt by Rivera. Rosell Herrera followed with a single, sending Rivera to second. Legends' reliever Scott Alexander picked Rivera off second for the second out, but Murphy singled, keeping the inning alive for Sosa, whose drive to deep center field scored Herrera and Murphy and gave the Tourists the lead for good.

Patrick Johnson (1-1), who pitched the top of the seventh after relieving starter Jonathan Vargas, got the win.

Alexander (1-1), who replaced starter Bryan Brickhouse in the sixth inning, took the loss. He had not given up an earned run in 14 innings pitched this season until the Tourists rallied in the seventh.

The Legends and Tourists will meet again Wednesday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
