Brewer: Surrendered two runs on seven hits over 6.0 IP with 2 BB and 2 K in 7/27 W @ HAG (4-2 Power)

THE LEADOFF: Another night of strong pitching for the Power resulted in a 4-0 victory on Saturday night at Appalachian Power Park. Alex McRae tossed five scoreless frames to earn his fifth win of the season while Dovydas Neverauskas and Sam Street each went two innings in relief. Offensively, the Power scored a run in the fifth on an RBI single from Elvis Escobar, who finished the game with three hits. In the sixth, Jerrick Suiter smacked a run-scoring double. Escobar's final hit was an RBI triple in the seventh to score Taylor Gushue. Escobar scored West Virginia's final run on a sac fly from Jordan Luplow.

VIEW FROM THE TOP: With Saturday's victory the Power continued to stay red-hot in the second half and lead Delmarva and Hickory by five games. The BlueClaws are six games back after Saturday's game. West Virginia is 6-3 in the season series against Lakewood, including a 3-3 record at FirstEnergy Park. The Power will host the final five games of the season set. Since the Power and BlueClaws began play, the Power lead the all-time series 88-70.

START THE ENGINES: Alex McRae tossed five shutout innings to earn his fifth win on Saturday night and continues the stretch of strong starting pitching in this series. Friday night saw Yeudy Garcia toss five hitless innings and Stephen Tarpley surrendered three earned runs on Thursday. The three starting pitchers have combined for a 1.69 ERA while the bullpen has yet to allow an earned run in this series.

TRIP-TRIP-TRIPLE: In last night's victory, Taylor Gushue led off the seventh inning with his team-best fourth triple of the season, tied with Michael Suchy. In the 11-year history of the West Virginia Power, the only catcher to lead the club in triples was Reese McGuire last year who hit four, tied with Erich Weiss and Michael Fransoso.

RISPY BUSINESS: In this current series, the Power are 10-for-40 with runners in scoring position and have left 27 men on base in the three games played.

HOME SWEET HOME: West Virginia has more home wins and fewer home losses than any other club in the South Atlantic League this season. The Power are 36-18 at home and average 4.7 runs per game at Appalachian Power Park this season. West Virginia is 26-24 on the road and averages 4.3 runs per game on the road.

MONEYBALL: Tito Polo is currently riding a 17-game on-base streak, a season best for the first-year Power outfielder. Polo's streak began prior to his participation in the Pan-Am games on June 25. Jordan Luplow entered yesterday's game with a 17-game on-base streak but went 0-for-3.

LITHUANIAN LIGHTING: Dovydas Neverauskas continues to excel as a member of the Power bullpen, having earned his second career save on Monday, one month to the day after he earned his first. The Lithuanian native has made 13 relief appearances and has a 1.16 earned run average since shifting to the bullpen. Neverauskas has also strung together 16 consecutive scoreless innings, having last allowed two runs in an inning on June 30 at Kannapolis.

PROMO UPDATE- AUGUST 4: Tuesday's game features a guest appearance by NASCAR Infinity driver and West Virginia native Cale Conley. Conley will be signing autographs and throwing out the first pitch on a Tailgate Tuesday.

POWER POINTS: Nick Neumann is three saves away from passing Nathan Kilcrease's franchise mark of 15 set during the 2012 season... .West Virginia hit 62 wins this season faster than any other club during the Pirates-affiliated era...The 18 hits by the Power on Friday night were the most in a game since August 16 at Lexington in 2014.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Gerrit Cole faltered against Cincinnati in the 4-3 loss...In his Triple-A debut, Josh Bell hit a walkoff single in the bottom of the 13th to defeat Charlotte 6-5. Tyler Glasnow struck out seven over 5.1 innings...Altoona relinquished a 4-0 lead to Akron and lost 5-4...The West Virginia Black Bears rallied from a 6-4 deficit to win 7-6.
