
Furney Strong in Rome's 2-0 Shutout Win

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Augusta GreenJackets Sunday afternoon 2-0 at State Mutual Stadium. Sean Furney had a strong outing for the Braves going eight shutout innings, scattering six hits while striking out four.
Tanner Murphy (4) led off the third inning with a solo shot to left giving Rome a 1-0 lead. The Braves added another run in the fourth when Jordan Edgerton doubled to lead off the inning and later scored on Stephen Gaylor's RBI single for the 2-0 score.
Furney (6-4) gets the win while Michael Santos (3-1) is hit with the loss. Taylor Lewis earned his first save of the season.
