
Wranglers Remain Unbeaten In Regulation In Last 12 Games

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (15-2-1, 31 points) were edged by the Idaho Steelheads (7-6-6, 20 points) 2-1 in a shootout in front of 6,611 fans at the Orleans Arena on Saturday night. Idaho goalie Kellen Briggs stopped 27 of 28 Las Vegas shots in regulation and then stuffed all four Wranglers shootout attempts for the victory. Las Vegas winger Ryan Donally scored the only goal in the defeat. Defenseman Chad Brownlee scored the only Steelheads goal in regulation, as Idaho ended the Wranglers 11-game winning streak. Las Vegas goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 33 of 34 Idaho shots, as Las Vegas remained unbeaten in regulation over the last 12 games (11-0-1). Las Vegas will play in Stockton on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm.
After a scoreless first period, Idaho opened up the scoring as defenseman Chad Brownlee fired a shot through traffic and into the back of the net at 2:56, giving the Steelheads a 1-0 lead. Las Vegas countered with a power-play goal by Ryan Donally at 15:14, tying the game 1-1.
After a scoreless third period and overtime, the two teams went to a shootout. The Steelheads scored twice on five attempts and Las Vegas was held scoreless by Kellen Briggs in four attempts, giving Idaho the 2-1 victory.
Las Vegas will embark on a five-game road trip with stops in Stockton and Utah. Las Vegas will play in Stockton on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm.
