Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - Brady Leisenring tallied 1:04 into overtime as the Fresno Falcons rallied to defeat the Bakersfield Condors 4-3 on Sunday in front of 3,292 fans at Save Mart Center.
After a scoreless first period, Bakersfield took advantage of a five-minute power-play to open a 2-0 lead. Fresno's Jarrett Konkle picked up a five-minute major 1:11, and the Condors capitalized with a pair of goals. Tim Konsorada got the scoring started at 1:29 with his 12th of the season, and Mark Derlago doubled the lead with his fifth at 2:21.
Fresno got on the board late on the Condors' power-play opportunity. Mike Ramsay sped into the Bakersfield zone, and fired a quick shot from the left-wing circle. Jamie Hodson made the save, but Daryl Marcoux gathered in the rebound on the right side, and buried the puck into an open net for his first pro goal, cutting the Condors' lead to one.
Bakersfield came back to regain its two-goal lead with another power-play goal at 14:06. Todd Griffith's shot from the left-wing circle beat Jake Moreland to the short side for his fourth of the season.
The Falcons pulled back within one before the end of the period with a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 15:41. Igor Gongalsky skated out from behind the Condors' net and stuffed a shot past Hodson for his ninth goal of the season.
Fresno tied it late in the third period. Matt Quinn won a face-off to Joe Van Culin at the left point, and he moved it to Kenny MacAulay at the middle of the blue line. MacAulay beat Hodson with a shot low to the glove side at 14:09.
In overtime, Leisenring skated into the high slot, and beat Hodson cleanly for his third goal of the season.
