Wranglers Fall 4-2 to Reading Royals

Reading, Pa. - The Las Vegas Wranglers dropped a 4-2 contest to the Eastern Conference-leading Reading Royals tonight after falling behind in a three-goal second period.

Royals forward Nikita Kashirsky put his team on the board midway through the first period. The 1-0 lead was brief as Wranglers defenseman Josh Godfrey snapped a power play goal past Royals goaltender Brandon Anderson for the 1-1 tie in the last 1:39 minutes of the period.

Reading came out strong in the second with forward David Marshall regaining the one-goal lead for the Royals just 4:36 minutes in. Royals defenseman Adam Comrie followed up with a power play goal, and Marshall tallied his second of the night to put the Wranglers down 4-1. With one second left in the period, Godfrey recorded his second goal of the night to make it a 4-2 game, but a scoreless third period left the Royals with the two-goal advantage and the win.

The Wranglers and Royals face off tomorrow afternoon before the team returns home to Orleans Arena for a four-game home stretch starting on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Promotions including a concert by alt-country legend Todd Snider on Friday, Feb. 1, and "Over 18 Night," featuring the world's first topless pro hockey team, on Monday, Feb. 4, at 9:05 p.m.
