Bulls Win Third Straight, Top Aces, 5-2

ANCHORAGE, Alaska. - Christian Ouellet scored twice and Taylor Nelson stopped 23 shots en route to the San Francisco Bulls' (16-20-1-4) 5-2 win over the Western Conference-leading Alaska Aces (30-11-0-2), Friday night at the Sullivan Arena. The win was the Bulls' third straight.

Rob Kwiet put the Bulls on top 1-0 with a seeing-eye slap shot from the left wall at 9:25 of the first period. Dean Ouellet and Rylan Galiardi earned the assists. Alaska tied the game at one with 8:09 remaining in the first period on Zach Harrison's 11th goal of the season.

In the second period, C. Ouellet converted a two-on-one after a nice feed from Alex Tuckerman at the 9:39 mark. Jordan Morrison also earned an assist on the play. Chris Clackson tied the game at two with 1:35 remaining in the second period.

The Bulls dominated the third period, out-shooting the Aces 16-5 and scoring three times. Jordan Clendenning got free in front to tip Kwiet's shot from the point past Mark Guggenberger with 9:56 gone by for a 3-2 Bulls lead. With 5:38 remaining in regulation, C. Ouellet made a nifty toe-drag move by the defense to complete a 2-on-1 opportunity to put the Bulls up 4-2. Morrison and Sebastian Trudeau collected the assists. Cody Carlson capped the scoring with an empty-netter.

The Bulls take on the Aces in Alaska tomorrow at 8:15 pm PT and Sunday at 4:05 pm PT. They return home on Thursday, January 31 for the final Thirsty Thursday. At select stands, 12-ounce draft domestic beers are half off.

Bulletins: Peter Sivak had his six-game point streak snapped...Jordan Morrison has points in three straight games (2 goals, 3 assists)...The Bulls out-shot the Aces 31-25...It was the Bulls' first victory against Alaska.
