Worcester Calls On Rudkowsky

Reading, PA -- The Reading Royals have announced that  goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has been recalled by the American Hockey League's Worcester IceCats.  The promotion is the second for Rudkowsky in the month of January.  In addition, Reading has activated forward Peter Hay and goaltender Peter Hamerlik from the 7-day  injured reserve list.

Rudkowsky has appeared in 27 games with the Royals this year posting a 14-10-3 record.  The Willingdon, Alberta native has a 2.14 goals against average and a .934 save percentage.  He ranks among ECHL league leaders in the following categories:  GAA -2.14 (2), save percentage - .934 (4), shootout wins -3 (1) and overtime wins - 3 (2).  Rudkowsky has posted nine of the Royals 13 wins at home in the Sovereign Center.

Reading has activated forward Peter Hay and goaltender Peter Hamerlik have been activated off the 7-day injured reserve list.  A correction to yesterday's release; Goaltender Terry Denike was not placed on the 7-day injured reserve list.  He remains on the active roster.

The Royals return home to the Sovereign Center on Friday, January 31 against the Augusta Lynx. The first 1,000 fans 12-and-under receive a free sportsbag courtesy of CTCE.  Sunday, February 1 Reading battles the Dayton Bombers in the Jungle.  Game time is set for 1:05 p.m.  Royals hockey home and away can be found on ESPN radio, 1240AM and via the Royals website at www.royalshockey.com.
