Wooten Recalled by Milwaukee

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers have announced a trio of roster moves prior to tonight's 6:05 PM MDT game against the Round Rock Express. RHP Rob Wooten has been recalled from Colorado Springs to Milwaukee. In a corresponding move, RHP Tyler Thornburg has been optioned to Colorado Springs. In addition, INF Brandon Macias has been transferred from Class A Brevard County to Colorado Springs. Roster at 24.

Macias, 26, will be making his first appearance at the Triple-A level. Originally signed by Milwaukee as a non-drafted free agent June 9, 2011, he hit .357 (10-for-28) with two doubles, a run scored and three RBI in seven games with Brevard County this season.

Thornburg, 26, made six relief appearances with the Brewers so far this season going 0-0 with a 5.59 ERA (6 ER/9.2 IP) with eight strikeouts. Originally selected by Milwaukee in the third round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, Thornburg went 6-2 with a 3.04 ERA (40 ER/118.1 IP) and 96 strikeouts in 53 appearances (10 starts) with the Brewers between 2012-14.
