
Woodchucks Split Series with Chinooks After Kenny Rodriguez Drives in Four Runs

WAUSAU, WI - After falling to the Lakeshore Chinooks last night, the Wisconsin Woodchucks answered back with an 8-3 Friday night victory.
The scoring started in the second inning when designated hitter Angel Tiburcio launched a solo home run. This was Tiburcio's second home run of the year.
The Woodchucks kept the scoring going with a productive third inning that brought in three runs. Center fielder Kenny Rodriguez hit an RBI double to center field that scored Lawrence Cicileo from second. Rodriguez later advanced to third where Kaeber Rog hit a sacrifice fly to center field that was allowed Rodriguez to tag up and score. Adam Frank was then hit by a pitch and stole both second and third base. With Frank in scoring position, Angel Tiburcio knocked him in with an infield RBI single. After scoring their three runs, the Woodchucks lead 4-3.
The Woodchucks four pitchers to work through the game. Brian Morrell made his fifth start of the season and pitched two innings, allowing one run on one hit. He struck walked three and struck out four. Colson Geisler pitched the third inning and allowed one run on one hit. Emmanuel Corporan came on in the fourth inning and pitched through the eighth. In his five innings of work, Corporan only allowed one run on three hits. The Fairleigh Dickinson University product walked one and struck out five.
As Corporan held the Chinooks below the Woodchucks with the score at 4-3, the Woodchucks bats added some insurance runs in the seventh inning. Catcher Santino Miozzi drove in a run from second with an RBI double in the left field gap. The final scoring push came off the bat of leadoff hitter Kenny Rodriguez. He drove a ball to deep left center that exited the ballpark. The three-run home run gave the Woodchucks an 8-3 lead that led to the final score.

Leadoff hitter and center fielder Kenny Rodriguez went 2-4 with 4 RBI and 2 runs. He drove in his first run with an RBI double in the third inning. Rodriguez later hit his third home run of the season in the seventh inning. The three-run home run gave the Woodchucks an 8-3 lead that led to the final score.
Designated hitter Angel Tiburcio drove in the first run for the Woodchucks with a solo home run in the second inning. This was Tiburcio's second home run of the year. He also had an RBI infield single in the third inning. Tiburcio finished 2-4 with two RBI and one run.
Relief pitcher Emmanuel Corporan came on in the fourth inning and pitched through the eighth. In his five innings of work, Corporan only allowed one run on three hits. The Fairleigh Dickinson University product walked one and struck out five.

The Wisconsin Woodchucks will travel to Madison tomorrow on Saturday, June 22nd to face off against the Mallards. The Woodchucks will then return home on Sunday to play the Mallards at Athletic Park.
