Woodchucks Welcome Pair of Kansas Commits to 2026 Roster

Wausau, WI - Two recent University of Kansas commits have signed to play for the Woodchucks this summer. Holden Groebl and Bradon Durfee will be joining the team in Wausau for 2026.

C -Holden Groebl | 6'4" | R/R | Freshman | Cowley County Community College

CF -Bradon Durfee | 6'0" | R/R | Redshirt Sophomore | Pasco-Hernando State College

Groebl is a current freshman at Cowley County Community College originally from Leawood, Kansas. He played his high school career at Blue Valley North High School, and was ranked the #2 catcher in the state of Kansas by Perfect Game.

Durfee, a Pasco-Hernando Redshirt Sophomore, is originally from Tampa Florida and attended Land O' Lakes High School. Last season, Durfee helped lead PHSC to their first NJCAA National Title with the second grand slam in an inning during the championship game. He was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and Outstanding Offensive Player through the World Series.

Through 31 games this spring, Groebl holds a .398 batting average with six home runs and 33 RBIs. In his 135 plate appearances, he has a .504 on-base percentage. Cowley College is current 19-13 on the season, with a 10-5 record at home. Durfee is batting .345 through 38 at-bats with eight home runs, 33 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases. Pasco-Hernando State is currently 24-14 overall and 12-6 in conference play.

The Wausau Woodchucks are gearing up for an exciting 2026 season! Opening Day at Athletic Park for the Woodchucks is Thursday, May 28th against the Green Bay Rockers at 6:35 PM, featuring a Wisconsin Lottery Hat Giveaway for the first 500 fans 18 and older.
