Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves have begun a new program which offers special experiences for friends of the Wolves family in the face of adversity.

"Wolves Wish" is a nomination-based program intended to reward deserving individuals in need of a special treat. If you know a fitting candidate, tell us their story and what "Wolves Wish" you would like to see them granted by visiting chicagowolves.com /community/donations/wolves-wish, and filling out the form.

The team will select winners based upon the nominations, and grant a unique "Wolves Wish" suited to their particular story.

This past Saturday, seven-year-old Kyle Zuniga of Gilberts, Ill., became the recipient of the inaugural Wolves Wish.

Zuniga was nominated after he endured a tragic accident this fall, when he was accidentally run over by his school bus after being dropped off for elementary school. He had surgery to repair broken hips and a broken femur.

Kyle and his family watched the Wolves beat the Peoria Rivermen on Saturday, and got a special gift delivery from the Wolves mascot, Skates. Following the game, Kyle and his family privately met players for pictures and autographs.

"We always are looking for the chance to do our little part to have an impact on those who are struggling in these hard times," said Wolves Vice President of Operations Courtney Mahoney. "Allowing people within the community to nominate their friends and family is a way for us to hear some stories that might not otherwise be brought to our attention."
