With 12 games remaining in the regular season, the Wolves sit in first place in the Midwest Division with 75 points (35-24-2-3) and lead second-place Peoria by two points; Chicago holds a three-point advantage over third-place Charlotte, but the Checkers have two games in hand.
WOLVES HEADLINES
--- MICHAEL DAVIES: Was the only Wolves player to notch multiple points last week when he collected 2 points on Sunday (GWG, A) ... Shares seventh on the team with 10 goals and ranks 10th with 19 points in 41 games this season ... Ranks second among Chicago forwards and shares third overall on the club with a +11 pus/minus rating and has posted a plus or even rating in 36 of his 41 tilts this year
--- EDDIE LACK: Backstopped the Wolves to a 3-2 victory against Toronto on Sunday, which marked the 23rd time this season he has held opponents to two or fewer goals in a game ... Has surrendered just 25 goals in his last 15 appearances, which include two shutouts, and has posted a 1.66 goals-against average and .947 save percentage during that span (9-6-0) ... Ranks second in the league with a .927 save percentage and sixth in the AHL with a 2.27 goals-against average in 39 games this year (18-17-3)
--- STEVE REINPRECHT: Snapped a 16-game goal-less drought when he bagged the eventual game-winning short-handed goal in the Wolves 1-0 victory over Lake Erie on Saturday ... Shares seventh on Chicago with 10 goals and shares fourth with 33 points in 51 games this season ... Skated in five games with San Antonio before being acquired by Vancouver on Oct. 23
--- KEVIN CONNAUTON: Scored just his second goal in 19 games since the All-Star break with a short-handed strike on Sunday ... Ranks sixth on the Wolves and fifth among AHL blueliners with 12 goals and hold seventh on the squad with 27 points in 63 contests this season ... Has surpassed his 2010-11 goal total (11), assist total (13) and point total (23) in 73 games as a rookie with the Manitoba Moose last season
WOLF TRACKS
-- Goaltender MATT CLIMIE pitched his first shutout of the season on Saturday with a 19-save performance against Lake Erie; the 29-year-old netminder snapped a two-game losing streak with his shutout win and has not suffered three straight losses all season.
--- Chicago's 1-0 win over Lake Erie on Saturday was the team's third 1-0 decision in its last 13 contests; prior to that stretch, the Wolves played in three 1-0 contests in their previous 207 games spanning three seasons (2009-present).
--- Chicago reached the 40-shot plateau for the first time this year when it fired off a season-high 42 shots on Saturday; it also marked just the 24th time in 64 outings the Wolves have taken 30 or more shots in a contest.
--- The Wolves have nine players on their roster that have scored at least 10 goals this year; eight different skaters have scored the last eight goals for Chicago.
--- The Wolves killed off 10 of their opponents' 11 power play chances last week; Chicago shares eighth in the AHL with an 83.7 efficiency rating on the penalty kill this season (205 of 245).
--- After recording two power-play goals on four chances on March 10, the Wolves have failed to score a man-advantage marker in their last four tilts (zero of 18); Chicago ranks 30th in the AHL with a 13.3 efficiency rating on the power play this season (37 of 278).
