Penguins Assign Samuelsson to W-B/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - It was announced today that defenseman Philip Samuelsson has been re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Samuelsson returns from his second stint of the season in Wheeling and has now totaled one assist and 11 penalty minutes over five contests with the Nailers. He has skated in 42 games this season for the Penguins, netting a goal and seven assists.

Samuelsson is in his first year of professional hockey after skating two seasons with Boston College. The 20-year-old native of Leksand, Sweden earned an NCAA Championship in 2010 during his freshman year with Eagles.
