Wolves Sign Notre Dame's Blatchford

The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman BRETT BLATCHFORD to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO).

BLATCHFORD completed his senior campaign with the University of Notre Dame last weekend, when the Fighting Irish fell to Ohio State in the first round of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs. He collected a career-high four goals, 19 points and 43 penalty minutes in 38 outings during his fourth CCHA season.

The 23-year-old blueliner posted a career-high 25 assists in 40 outings during his junior year in 2008-09. Overall, he collected 67 assists, 73 points and 101 penalty minutes in 153 contests spanning four season from 2006 to 2010.

Prior to attending Notre Dame, the Temperance, Mich., native spent three seasons with the Texas Tornado of the North American Hockey League, recording 73 assists, 81 points and 78 penalty minutes in 142 outings from 2003 to 2006.

In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
