Wolves Sign Fankhouser

The Chicago Wolves have signed goaltender SCOTT FANKHOUSER, who played two games with the Wolves during the 2001-02 season.

Fankhouser has registered a 5-4-2 mark, a 2.69 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage in 11 games with the Toledo Storm of the ECHL this season.

The Bismarck, N.D., native spent parts of two seasons with the National Hockey League's Atlanta Thrashers (1999-2001), recording a 4-12-2 mark and a 3.31 goals-against average in 23 games.

Fankhouser registered a 1-0-1 mark, a 1.92 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage in two games with the Wolves in 2001-02.

Last year, he recorded a 3.07 goals-against average in 34 games with Bietigheim-Bissingen of 2.Bundesliga in Germany.

The 29-year-old netminder shared the International Hockey League's 2000-01 James Norris Memorial Trophy with goaltender Norm Maracle after the pair combined to allow the fewest regular-season goals (193) for the Orlando Solar Bears. Fankhouser also earned the Turner Cup Championship that year before winning the 2001-02 Kelly Cup with the ECHL's Greenville Grrrowl.
