River Rats' Cole reassigned to Augusta

Albany N.Y. The Albany River Rats announced today that the New Jersey Devils have reassigned defenseman Phil Cole to the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL.

The 22-year-old rearguard went scoreless with a minus one rating and 14 penalty minutes in 11 games with the River Rats during the 2004-05 season. Cole was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils with their eighth choice (125th overall) in the 2000 National Hockey League Entry Draft and has one goal, three assists and 100 penalty minutes in 54 career American Hockey League games.

The River Rats, winners of two straight contests, begin a five-game road trip tonight against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05pm. The game can be heard on the clubs flagship radio station Moon Radio AM 1160 and online at www.albanyriverrats.com beginning at 6:50pm with the Capitaland Motors GMC Pre-Game Show.

The Albany River Rats, in their 12th season as a member of the American Hockey League, are owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey Leagues New Jersey Devils.
