Wolves Name Taylor Chorney Team Captain

The Chicago Wolves have named defenseman TAYLOR CHORNEY team captain for the 2013-14 season.

The 26-year-old defenseman becomes the ninth captain in Wolves history and the third defenseman to don the "C". He joins Steve Maltais (1994-96 and 1997-2005), Troy Murray (1996-97), Kevin Dahl (2000-01), Derek MacKenzie (2005-06), Darren Haydar (2007-08 and 2012-13), Jamie Rivers (2008-09), Jason Krog (2009-11), and Nolan Baumgartner (2011-12) on the list of Chicago captains.

Forwards KEITH AUCOIN, ALEXANDRE BOLDUC, and MARK MANCARI have been named alternate captains for the remainder of the season.

CHORNEY paces team rear guards with 4 goals and shares second among Chicago defenseman with 9 points in 24 games this season. Overall, he has posted 26 goals, 82 assists, and 108 points in 293 career AHL games with Springfield (2008-10), Oklahoma City (2010-12), Peoria (2012-13), and Chicago (2013-14).

The Thunder Bay, Ontario, native also has skated in 59 career National Hockey League contests with Edmonton (2008-12) and St. Louis (2011-12), collecting 6 assists and 7 points.
