December 18, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... In the community spirit of the Greater Rochester Area Honda Dealers Frozen Frontier presented by Labatt, the Greater Rochester Area Honda Dealers have donated a block of ice time and skate rentals to School #9 on Thursday, December 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
About 80 kids from School #9 are expected to come out to the Frozen Frontier tomorrow morning and enjoy 75 minutes of open skating. The students will be joined on the ice by mascots Spikes and the Moose, staffers from both the Amerks and Red Wings organizations and 10 players from the McQuaid varsity hockey team who will assist the students on and off the ice.
"We are extremely proud to host these students from School #9 on the Frozen Frontier ice," said Steve Ralph, President of the Greater Rochester Area Honda Dealers. "Our goal in hosting them at the Frozen Frontier is to give everybody an opportunity to share in the excitement. Many of these kids have never skated before so it's sure to be a big thrill for them!"
"It is these types of events that make the Frozen Frontier so special," said Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason. "The opportunity that the Greater Rochester Area Honda Dealers are providing to these young kids is something they will always remember."
"The Greater Rochester Area Honda Dealers have been a great partner in the Frozen Frontier and are extending that support to others in the community," said Amerks Vice President of Business Operations Rob Kopacz. "It will be very exciting to see the kids from School No. #9 getting the chance to skate at the Frozen Frontier."
