The Sudbury Wolves hosted the Guelph Storm Friday night for the one and only time this season. Wolves' newcomers, TRAVIS WOOD and COLE MAYO made their Sudbury Wolves debut in front of 3900 fans at the Sudbury Community Arena.
The Storm got off to a quick start, which saw them take an early 2-0 lead. Sudbury native TYLER BERTUZZI scored the first goal of the evening for the Storm, well JASON DICKINSON added the second. The Storm added one more before the Wolves took control of the puck. Captain BRODY SILK found the back of the net just over seven minutes into the game to put the Wolves on the board. DICKINSON scored his second goal of the game with 22 seconds remaining in the period to help Guelph take a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes. The shots on goal were 17-15 after the first period in favour of the Wolves.
The Wolves came out of the locker room for the second period on fire, taking control of the game which led to many scoring opportunities. TROY TIMPINO made an incredible save to create a 2-on-1 which NATHAN PANCEL capitalized to cut the lead in half. PAVEL JENYS and JONATHAN DUCHESNE gathered assists on the play. Shots on goal after the second were 34 to 24 in favour of the Wolves.
PANCEL opened the scoring in the final frame with his second of the night to put the Wolves within one.
