Sudbury Wolves News Release
Sudbury Wolves' Head Coach Paul Fixter is pleased to announce that Kyle Capobianco has been promoted to Assistant Captain of the hockey club. Capobianco, 17, was a first round selection of the Sudbury Wolves, sixth overall, in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.
The 6'1", 180 lb defenceman, is one of the leading scorers on the team this year and is one of the cornerstones that the Sudbury Wolves will be relying-on to improve their on-ice success in the future. Capobianco is also identified on the NHL Central Scouting 'Watch List' for the upcoming NHL draft.
"Kyle demonstrates leadership qualities that will benefit all players coming through our organization" notes Wolves' Head Coach Paul Fixter. "Kyle is one of our most skilled players, he wants to win, and he cares about the Sudbury Wolves. He is highly regarded by his teammates and he will play a leading role in the future of the Sudbury Wolves." Capobianco joins captain Brody Silk and assistant captains Nathan Pancel and Jeff Corbett as the team's leadership group.
Capobianco is currently tied for third in team scoring with 3 goals, 12 assists for 15 points in 23 games. Kyle is among the league-leaders in scoring among defencemen. Last season, Capobianco recorded 11 points in 53 games with Sudbury. The Mississauga native was a member of the Oakville Rangers Midget team that captured the 2013 OHL Cup.
