Chicago Wolves News Release
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Despite the best efforts of Wolves goaltender Pheonix Copley, Milwaukee prevailed over Chicago, 1-0, in overtime in an Amtrak Rivalry game from the Bradley Center Saturday evening.
Milwaukee's Pontus Aberg scored his team-leading 16th goal of the season at the 3:31 mark of overtime, streaking into the slot and redirecting a pass from Trevor Murphy for the game-winner.
Copley made a personal season-high 38 saves to hold the Admirals (35-19-3-0) scoreless in regulation. He made 21 saves in the third period alone, robbing Vladislav Kamenev on a backhander just 37 seconds into the period and turning away Max Reinhart on a breakaway at the 11-minute mark. Copley also killed off 58 seconds of power play time in overtime to earn No. 1 Star of the Game honors.
Admiral goaltender Juuse Saros earned his third shutout of the season with 22 saves.
Chicago (25-25-5-2) was led offensively by Zack Phillips, who in his first game with the Wolves, placed a team-best four shots on goal.
The Amtrak Rivalry continues tomorrow afternoon with a 3 p.m. faceoff at Allstate Arena on Mascot Day and Nut Free Awareness Day. To find the best ticket specials, visit ChicagoWolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
