'Wolves Drop Game Two of Doubleheader 5-3

The SeaWolves dropped game two of Saturday's doubleheader to the Bowie Baysox, 5-3 at Jerry Uht Park. The loss drops the 'Wolves to a game under .500 at 7-8.

The 'Wolves struck first in the bottom of the second inning against Bowie starter Eddie Gamboa. Michael Bertram doubled down the right field line with one out and moved to third on a Francisco Martinez base hit. Ben Guez hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Bertram for a 1-0 lead.

Bowie tied the game at 1-1 with two outs in the fourth against Erie starter Casey Crosby. Ronnie Welty doubled and was doubled home by Robbie Widlansky.

In the bottom of the fourth, Erie regained the lead with two outs when Guez connected on an opposite-field, two run home run, his second, for a 3-1 advantage.

In the sixth, the Baysox tied the game against Erie's bullpen. Releiver Jared Gayhart gave up a leadoff double to Brandon Waring. With one out, Widlansky crushed a game-tying two-run home run.

Bowie took its first lead of the afternoon in the seventh against reliever Austin Wood. With one out, Wood hit Miclat and walked Waring. With two outs, Widlansky doubled home a pair for a 5-3 Baysox lead.

Crosby took the no-decision, allowing a run on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings of work.

The SeaWolves are off on Sunday and will take on the Reading Phillies on Monday night at Jerry Uht Park.6:35 First Pitch.
