Sudbury Wolves News Release
The Sudbury Wolves and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are pleased to announce the creation of the PaWES (Police and Wolves Educating Sudbury) program.
The goal of this collaborative partnership is to have Greater Sudbury Police officers teamed up with players from the Sudbury Wolves.
President of the Sudbury Wolves Blaine Smith: "The Sudbury Wolves organization is very proud to team-up with the Police and help spread the word about the importance of teamwork, pride and leadership, to the youth of our community. I know our players will also really enjoy the mentoring benefits provided by police officers who will be taking the time to meet with our players and talk to them about their experiences of living in Sudbury. The benefits of this partnership are enormous not only for the Sudbury Wolves but also for the youth of our community and we are very pleased that we have been invited to be a part of the PAWES program."
These "PaWES" teams will work together off the ice in the Greater Sudbury community attending various community events where they educate our youth on topics including leadership, pride and teamwork.
"Our shared commitment to creating community safety & well-being begins by working with excellent leaders and partners. We are pleased to be teamed up with the Sudbury Wolves as part of the PaWES program. Through this collaborative partnership we will have greater opportunities to reach the youth of our community" Chief Paul Pedersen - Greater Sudbury Police Service
If you are interested in having a "PaWES team" attend your event, please contact Miranda Swain at the Sudbury Wolves Office, 705-675-3941 or Staff Sergeant Craig Maki at 705-675-9171 ext. 2104.
