Attack Hunger on Saturday Night
November 5, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack will be kicking off their 3rd annual Attack Hunger campaign when they host the Hamilton Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 7. Hamilton's first ever visit to the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre will mark the first of two nights that the Attack will be running a food drive in conjunction with the Investor's Group. Benefitting the Salvation Army, the Attack and Investor's Group encourage fans to bring donations of non perishable food items to Saturday night's contest as well as Wednesday, Dec. 16's game against the Barrie Colts. The Attack Hunger campaign has raised helped raise over 5,000 pounds of food in the first two years of its existence.
While Saturday's game is expected to draw a large amount of community support, the Attack are hoping that translates into a raucous crowd for what will be an historic matchup between Owen Sound and Hamilton.
Relocating from Belleville in the off-season, the Bulldogs are 15 games in to their inaugural Ontario Hockey League season and enter this weekend of play with 6-9-0 record which has them in 9th in the Eastern Conference. The Bulldogs are led by overage forward Stephen Harper who has 19 points on the season, including eight goals and 11 assists. Hamilton, who lost to Mississauga on Wednesday, Nov 4 in their last outing, will be taking on the Oshawa Generals on Friday before their appearance in the Scenic City.
Owen Sound enters Saturday's game looking to rebound from a heartbreaking 4-3 overtime loss to the Sarnia Sting on Wednesday night. Currently sitting at 8-6-2-1 on the season, the Attack are in 4th place in the Midwest Division but still hold down 6th spot overall in the Western Conference.
The team was bolstered by the return of Bryson Cianfrone to the lineup on Wednesday night after the overage forward missed six games due to a concussion. Cianfrone has nine points in 11 games on the year and will be looked upon to be a catalyst for the Attack against Hamilton.
Tickets for Saturday's game are available at the DJ's Furniture Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452.
The weekend preview is presented by Joe Tomato's, located next to the Galaxy Cinemas on the Sunset Strip. Attack fans are encouraged to bring their ticket stubs into Joe Tomato's after every Attack home game for half-off wings and appetizers.
