Hartford Wolf Pack News Release


The Wolf Pack (12-15-2-0, 26 pts., .448 pts. percentage) finished their pre-Christmas slate by splitting a pair of road games this past weekend. On Friday night, in their first visit to Rochester since February of 2002, the Wolf Pack suffered a 7-1 loss to the Americans, their largest margin of defeat this season. Only a Chad Nehring shorthanded goal with 21.9 seconds left in the game saved the Pack from being shut out. Hartford rebounded on Saturday night in Utica, posting a 2-1 shootout victory over the Comets. That improved the Wolf Pack's shootout record to 3-0, with Adam Tambellini adding a shootout goal to his first-period tally and Marek Hrivik notching his second shootout winner of the season.

This week:

The Wolf Pack finish up a stretch of five straight games, and eight out of nine, on the road, with visits to Binghamton on Saturday night and Rochester on Sunday. Saturday's game at the Senators is a 7:05 PM faceoff and Sunday is a 5:05 start.

Saturday, December 26 at the Binghamton Senators (Ottawa) at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena, 7:05 PM

- The Senators trail the field in the Eastern Conference with a 7-17-2-0 record, for 16 points and a .308 points percentage, but won their last game before Christmas, besting Lehigh Valley at home 2-1 on Saturday. That victory snapped a four-game Binghamton losing streak.

- This is the first of two games on the year between the Wolf Pack and the Senators, and the Pack's only visit of the season to Binghamton. The Wolf Pack swept a two-game season series last year, winning 4-2 at home on December 7 and 4-3 in Binghamton March 14.

- Former UConn Husky Cole Schneider leads the Senators in goals with ten, and his 17 points in 26 games place him second on the team.

Sunday, December 27 at the Rochester Americans (Buffalo) at the Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial, 5:05 PM

- After not having visited Rochester for nearly 14 years, this is the Wolf Pack's second trip to the Blue Cross Arena in a span of ten days. The Pack's 7-1 loss to the Amerks this past Friday dropped Hartford's record in the season series to 0-2-0-0.

- The Americans have outscored their opposition 11-2 in their last two games, after Rochester followed up Friday's 7-1 win over the Wolf Pack with a 4-1 triumph over Albany Saturday night at the Blue Cross Arena. Coach Randy Cunneyworth's Amerk squad has gone 7-3-0-1 in its last 11 games, to improve to 14-12-1-1 for 30 points and a .536 points percentage.

- Rochester goaltender Andrey Makarov (6-5-2, 2.95 GAA, 91.1% save percentage) came within 21.9 seconds of the Americans' first shutout of the season in Friday's game against the Wolf Pack, and then stopped 30 of 31 Albany shots in Rochester's 4-1 win over Albany Saturday.

Pack Tracks:

The Wolf Pack's next home game is Tuesday, December 29, when the Portland Pirates visit for a 7:00 PM game. That is "Scout Night" at the XL Center. Scout groups that reserve in advance receive discounted tickets and special Scout Night patches. For details, contact the Wolf Pack ticket office at (855) 762-6451.

On Saturday, January 2, when the Wolf Pack host the Albany Devils in a 7:00 game, the first 2,000 fans through the doors will receive a free Wolf Pack travel mug, courtesy of Henkel. Also that night, and at the Wolf Pack's home game the next day vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, there will be a winter clothing drive. Anyone who donates a winter hat, jacket or scarf will be presented with a buy-one-get-one-free ticket voucher redeemable for any 2015-16 Wolf Pack home game.

On Friday home-game nights throughout the season, fans can take advantage of the Wolf Pack's wildly popular Friday-night food and beverage discount. That means $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period. The next Friday home game is January 8, when the Springfield Falcons invade the XL Center (7:15 PM faceoff).

The Wolf Pack have 11 Sunday home games this year, and all of those will feature the Wolf Pack's "Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack". The Family Value Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for just $35. The Wolf Pack's next Sunday home date is January 3, when the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins visit for a 3:00 PM game.

The Wolf Pack's Sunday, January 3 home game vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will also be "Superhero Family Day", in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The Wolf Pack will be collaborating with "Team Vermin" to bring over 30 superheros to the January 3 game, and fans are also encouraged to come to the game dressed as their favorite superhero. Special benefit tickets are available for the January 3 game for $15 each, and $5 from each benefit ticket sold will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, to help MJFF to continue aggressively funding research to find better treatments, and a cure, for Parkinson's Disease. To purchase the benefit tickets, click here.

Every Wednesday-night Wolf Pack home game in 2015-15 is a "Winning Wednesday". If the Wolf Pack win at home on a Wednesday night, fans can show their Winning Wednesday ticket at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center and receive a free ticket to the next Wolf Pack home game (some restrictions apply). The Wolf Pack's next Wednesday home outing is February 17, a 7:00 PM game vs. the Providence Bruins.

Tickets all 2015-16 Wolf Pack home games are now on sale at the XL Center ticket office, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499. Tickets purchased in advance for kids 12 or younger have been reduced to $10 this season, and all tickets will have a $2 day-of-game increase.
